The career arc in one breath: e-commerce operations, then the analytics function of one at a professional-services firm, now systems that run parts of my job without me. The longer version is just a pattern — in every role I've had, I ended up building the system nobody asked for, because doing the same manual thing twice feels like a bug.

What that's like to work with: I'd rather publish a smaller number that survives a challenge than a bigger one that doesn't. I think the most trustworthy thing a system can be is boring. And I don't need a spec to start — most of my work begins as somebody's vague feeling that a process is bleeding, and ends as a number with a method behind it.

The home lab is the same instinct with the guardrails off — models, agents, and monitoring running on hardware in my house, carrying real parts of my own workload. Not a strategy; I wanted to know whether it would hold, and renting someone else's answer doesn't teach you that.
